Our waterproofing products Silikal RU 320 resin pigmented and Silikal RU 320 resin thix were awarded the “general building test certificate” at the end of 2019.
This means that floor layers tasked with sealing large-scale kitchens in a safe manner and in compliance with the relevant standards now have a usability certificate as required by DIN 18534 “Interior Sealing”.
The reason for this requirement is the heavy stress placed on kitchen floor coverings. The wearing layer of these floors is subjected to water, detergent and grease on a daily basis. For this reason, it is important that a safe and approved waterproofing layer is fitted underneath the wearing layer, in order to protect the building structure.
Our recently certified Silikal products RU 320 resin pigmented and RU 320 resin thix act as waterproof membranes. These are polyurethane modified, self levelling methacrylate resin systems that are suitable for a wide variety of substrates. They can also be used as a coating on rising or steeply inclined surfaces. Application of the highly flexible material is – as is usual for Silikal products – simple, practical and possible even at low temperatures. And it goes without saying that curing is very quick.
