Feeding tables made of concrete are susceptible to attack by acids and silage.
This causes rough surfaces that are difficult to clean, which in turn can have adverse effects on hygiene and feed consumption. At the “Norla” agricultural fair held in Rendsburg between 5 – 9 September 2019, Silikal teamed up with Northe, a producer of special-purpose construction materials from Kiel and Hamburg, to present, among other things, their practical and proven solution for coated feeding tables. Matthias Northe, the managing director of Jörg Northe GmbH, was happy with how the trade fair went: “We had a good visitor frequency and enjoyed some interesting discussions at the stand. The subject of coated feeding tables was in great demand among the farmers. But they also showed great interest in using the application in milking parlours, since Silikal coatings are also ideally suited to this purpose. Last but not least, the Silikal floors, in particular the visually appealing variants with colour flakes and colour sand, are ideal for food preparation areas and sales areas in farm shops. So we also had a few contacts in that regard. It is the rapid curing time of the Silikal resins in particular – fully resilient after no more than 2 hours – that impresses customers the most.” Matthias Northe believes the trade fair also proved to be so successful thanks to the sample objects, the attractive references and the information material provided by Silikal, which served to highlight the wide range of applications and options for MMA coatings in modern agricultural enterprises.
